Okay so usually when I tell the kids I am experimenting they don't want to even try whatever it is that I made. This time I didn't tell them it was an experiment and it turned out to be a huge success. Instead of using the juicer I used a blender this time and we enjoyed all of the health benefits because the pulp was included in the drink. Here is the recipe:
- 1 apple (cut up into chunks)
- 1 large handful of baby leaf spinach
- 3 carrots (cut up)
- 3 strawberries
- 1 cup of orange juice
Put the spinach in first with a little water and start blending until you have a smooth consistency. Then add in your other fruits and vegetables until all is blended well. Lastly you need to add in the orange juice and blend for a few seconds. That's it! Simple, homemade, healthy vegetable/fruit drink that will take you less time to make than it takes to login to facebook and read the wall lol! Taking a few minutes to make sure you give your kids a healthy snack is worth the time and the effort! You can adapt this recipe to your own liking by trying other fruits and vegetables.
