Publix Shopping Trip 5/28/10
Wow! I am exhausted after today's shopping trip! But it was well worth it. My friend and I went together (along with our 5 little ones and her teenager who was a great helper!) and we had a blast! It really is a lot of fun to save money. It is such a blessing to know that even though I am not able to go out and get a job because I have four little ones at home right now, I can still contribute to my family by saving us at least $200 a month on groceries. Eight months ago I was spending at least $125 per week (and often more than that) at Walmart every single week on off-brand junk and I was barely getting anything. Now I spend about $60-$75 every week and my cabinets are stocked up on quality, brand-name items that my family will not let go to waste. In fact, I often have such a surplus that I am able to share with the people in my life who are in need. Although I am sure I could bring my grocery bill down even more each week, I do like some of the "convenience foods". So maybe one day, (when my kids are all in their teens) I will have the time to cook from scratch more often. Check out today's shopping trip at Publix. I saved 71% and only spent $66.59 for $230.98 worth of groceries! It was a great shopping day! The picture isn't including about 4 items which were mistaken for my friend's, so she took them with her :) Oops!
